ASHLEY Cole’s cheating has finally taken its toll on poor Cheryl.

The defiant Girls Aloud babe tried to put on a brave face.

She carried on promoting her new album as her world collapsed.

She wanted to prove to the Chelsea love-rat that she didn’t need him any more.

But the Geordie started cancelling public appearances yesterday citing a nasty bout of “bronchitis”.

And she’s been seen looking depressed and troubled in recent days.

While her career may be booming, her private life is a mess.

And it’s only just starting to hit home.

Cheryl will now need the support of close friends and family.

With their help she will slowly come to terms with the end of her marriage.

She will eventually come out of this a stronger person.

Britain is behind her every step of the way.

Cheryl is the nation’s sweetheart.

She will bounce back.

Ashley should hang his head in shame for putting her through this hell.
